Couple weeks ago I wondered if we were seeing the record for most Studes on eBay. The record is over 100.

Now, I think this may be the record for the fewest- 22! Anyone remember less?

Can't wait till the post-holiday listings get crankin'[|)][|)][|)]

Bob,

Not exactly true, at 9:07 PM there are currently 21 Studes on e-Bay Motors, another 5 that are listed outside e-Bay Motors (probably as parts cars) and at least 15 (and a horse drawn surrey) in e-Bay Stores. By Decimal Dude's calculations, that makes 41 (w/o the surrey).

Did you see this 1931 four door?

Gary, note the DATE I said... yes, that number has increased today. In e-Bay motors yes, but the others (especially in the e-Bay Stores) were already out there. It is just that your typical search will not locate them.

I'm not sure there is an average- the different seasons seem to have a fairly large effect on the numbers.

I have a separate bookmark that is "All Studebaker" on eBay; that averages right at about 2000 items. That's been at around 1400 this week[xx(][|)]

Okay, I am confused (not hard). I just took a look on e-Bay and sorted from the highest price to the lowest and come up with 24 Studebakers. While Bob says it is as of Tuesday (with an early morning post on Wednesday), I am not seeing vehicles being listed overnight.

There are vehicles listed in other than e-Bay Motors, in fact there are at least 13 more listed in e-Bay Stores. My count gives at least 37 (with over 8000 items in E-Bay Stores I only sorted down to $500.

Guys, you may have noticed I have not listing any of my own cars in a month or so. It's quite simple, listing a car in the middle of winter and near the holidays is going to cost you 10-30% of your normal bidding pool for cars. I did list a convertible before Christmas for someone against my recommendation and he took a 4K hit over what he paid in the summer.

Well, the holdays have come and gone and BJ and other auctions are just around the cornner so be aware of those who think their #1 car is worht mega $$$$ when indeed it is a #3 or 4 worth a few pennies. Like JP says I stay away from holidays on listing any item on eBay as it can cost you dollars.

See you in the future as I write about our past

Well, the holdays have come and gone and BJ and other auctions are just around the cornner so be aware of those who think their #1 car is worht mega $$$$ when indeed it is a #3 or 4 worth a few pennies. Like JP says I stay away from holidays on listing any item on eBay as it can cost you dollars.

See you in the future as I write about our past

Guys, you may have noticed I have not listing any of my own cars in a month or so. It's quite simple, listing a car in the middle of winter and near the holidays is going to cost you 10-30% of your normal bidding pool for cars. I did list a convertible before Christmas for someone against my recommendation and he took a 4K hit over what he paid in the summer.

64 R2 GT (Sid)
spent to date $62,839.60

Your search must be more thorough than mine- you always have a higher number. How do you search?
Since I am rarely looking for a Studebaker vehicle to buy, I search on Studebaker in "All Categories". This provides you with all the items currently listed in an auction format on e-Bay (currently 1945). It will also include cars that are listed outside of e-Bay Motors for whatever reason, such as a nice car that may not have a title that is listed as a parts vehicle.

There are also items that are listed in e-Bay Stores (currently 8596). These appear to be a mix of traditional auction items as well as those with the "Buy it Now" feature. Some of these listings appear to run for as long as 30 days and also appear to include some items listed in the traditional manner.

If my description is wrong, I trust one of the e-Bay experts such as JP will straighten me out.

Hard to believe, but: Tuesday, 1/1/08, early evening-

Only 11 Studes listed!!![:0][:0]
Okay, I am confused (not hard). I just took a look on e-Bay and sorted from the highest price to the lowest and come up with 24 Studebakers. While Bob says it is as of Tuesday (with an early morning post on Wednesday), I am not seeing vehicles being listed overnight.

There are vehicles listed in other than e-Bay Motors, in fact there are at least 13 more listed in e-Bay Stores. My count gives at least 37 (with over 8000 items in E-Bay Stores I only sorted down to $500.

OK, Gary, I'll try to un-confuddle you;)

Here's the search I have bookmarked:

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Trucks___W0QQMake247a0eZStudebaker3896cd44QQ_catZ6466QQ_pcatsZ6001Q2c6000QQ_sopZ Year29fc5dQ5fDESCQQ_ipgZ100

Although I saw the total was 11 Tues. night, I didn't post about it till Wed. AM- at which time it had risen to 13. As of now (Wed. night) the total's now up to 18.

Your search must be more thorough than mine- you always have a higher number. How do you search?

At the bottom of the page (unless it is the new format) there should be a number of links, including the e-Bay Stores. Click on that and then sort by price (highest first). As of this post, there are 8610 items.
