I have a 51 commander with this fuel pump. I suspect that it is not working. I have seen the Airtex 527 pumps and they look correct but state they are for the 6 cyl. Will this pump work on the 232? If not, I cannot find any reasonable replacements.

I believe the Diaphragms are the same or similar enough, but the operating Lever and maybe the Casting are not, they do not interchange, and there is no replacement except the Airtex which, for the 6 Cyl. and 232 V8 Engine have been working well with none of the Timing Cover Mounted 224, 259 & 289 V8's, Oil leaking and other problems.
They ARE expensive and Custom Built, but the good News is I and others can get you a NEW one.
The demand is so low, that no one including Airtex makes them anymore, which is why they are Custom, Hand Built.Last edited by StudeRich; 08-09-2016, 01:31 PM.StudeRich
