It is too bad this guy wasn't really trying to impress her with a right-hand-drive Packard Hawk or Golden Hawk - that might have added a zero to the final bid. Then again she might have decided to go through with it and this would not be a story at all...

The original owner of my Power Hawk was also our plumber who later sold it to my neighbor in the back who then sold it to me in 1966 just before I separated from the Army. At the time it had 33K and turned over 90K this winter.

No marriage intentions then and none now...

My '56 Sky Hawk just turned 60k. That's a thousand miles a year!
