  • A Great Ride to and From Warwick.

I only drove from northern NJ to Warwick midweek for this wonderful meet. Had a great time saw some truly inspiring and wonderful cars and Trucks. Met some great enthusiastic people, had some insightful chats long and short ones. I got very good information and direction on how I may proceed with restoring or not driving and enjoying my truck. Overall I had 2 very good days of fun and enjoyment at the SDC meet.

Now my truck has not been restored as a lot of the cars and trucks i got to enjoy at the show. I just wish to keep it mechanically sound and drive this wonderful product where ever when ever I can. It still was amazing how many people would slow down as they passed me on I-95 from the George Washington Bridge all the way through CT to RI. On the way back I drove the Merritt parkway to the Cross County to Henry Hudson straight through Midtown Manhattan , stopping for a few minutes around 13th st and 9th Ave for quick bite ( random people just stopping to take pictures). Then back up through the Lincoln Tunnel onward to home.
After getting to enjoy this I plan on driving to South Bend if not for next years show at least for another visit next summer or while on my way to the Indy 500.
I didn't get a lot of pictures my phone was dying, but i got a few.

      Keep on driving.
It's the SDC, not the STQC !

My trip was wonderful, too. As I keep my car in Southampton, i took the ferries across and was in Warwick 45 minutes after I got off the ferry in New London. Lots of thumbs up and admirers. I wish I got greeted like that all the time, but there's no competing with my beautiful green Sky Hawk.

I thought of taking the Ferry to Newport before heading home... do you know the charges and is it one that needs an appointment., at least for future trips up there.

At this time of year, you really should have a ferry reservation. When we went to the Warwick meet, the cost of the ferry for my me, my wife and our car was over $70, but worth it. Saved a lot of driving plus wear and tear on our car.

I did look into it..but coming from NJ I would have to drive almost as long just to get on the Ferry...They need to bring back the old means of transport from major ports Like NYC to Boston or Baltimore and so on.
