Same type of packing material on this fender as I found on some NOS fenders I bought for my 47 Champion.
Paper, excelsior, paper, then tied with twine. Hated to open up.
Bought from a fellow called "Rusty Baker" think he was in New Mexico or Arizona. All labeled being shipped from Studebaker Los Angeles plant.sigpic1957 Packard Clipper Country Sedan

Just curious, what is the difference among the years? It appears that the front fenders (outer part at least) is the same from 53 - 64.78 Avanti RQB 2792

Outer fenders are all the same (except trim holes) from '53-'64 EXCEPT for the later GT fenders near the back near hood hinge. The lip that wraps over the inner fender/apron is different. Area not visible from the outside. I acquired a "near nos" used LF to use on my '53 that was on I think a GT hawk at one time and had to modify that area to mate up with the '53 inner fender/apron.
