  • 53/54 convertible prototypes????

There was just a video posted here recently. Showed a white and a black one. Does anybody have any info on these cars or their whereabouts? I have recently been contacted about a black car with what's was described to me as a very well done period convertible that has been in storage since mid 60's. The guy says he knows Studebaker never made that model convertible but said it looks factory done. Hoping to go look for myself next week sometime.

The ONLY prototype 1953/54 ever made is now in the hands of Ed Reynolds: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...vert-prototype

Does anybody remember the title of that post that had the video. It wasn't posted very long ago maybe a week or 10 days ago. I'm almost certain there was a black & white convertible side by side at the beginning. It was an original Studebaker video.

Isn't it the same video as in post #13 here: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...54-convertible

That's where I seen it. Man thought it was a post on this forum. There is clearly a black one with a white top at the beginning. It's not a repaint it has a slightly square back of the to compared to the white car. The one I'm looking at next week has same type of square back top. It might be the same car as in the video.

The factory made one prototype 1953 convertible that was changed in appearance to be a 1954 convertible and the car had color changes.
