  • 1935 dictator master cylinder gasket?

Started master cylinder overhaul, found master cylinder fill opening gasket missing. Does anyone sell the gasket? SI does not list them this far back. It's 1 1/4 in inside diameter. Ken, Deltaville, Va

Might be worth a trip to the hardware store and go through their little drawers of copper type gaskets. Like Ace Hardware or True Value.

When White Post restored the master cylinder for my '35 Commander I asked them to replace the cap and they supplied one with a fiber gasket. Copper gaskets were used for the pressure connections like from the flexible hoses to the front wheel cylinders, but really weren't needed on non-pressure applications like master cylinder caps. If you can't find gaskets locally, White Post Restorations should have them. Tom
