Production Order Info

The production order for Avanti R-5361 shows "automatic floor shift" and "tag AD building display"
When I bought the car it had and still does have a 4 speed in it. Looks original to me.
Anyway I can determine if this was done after it left Studebaker which is probably the case?

The first Pic in post #5, does anyone know if that first Man on the Left could be Eugene Harding the Head of Studebaker Engineering?

Unfortunately none of them are my Hero, Sherwood Egbert, but Nov. '63 was after he left the Co. I believe.

Definitely not Gene Hardig. It is H. W. Arnold who was with the auto group of Studebaker International. For you records the article below shows Mr. Hardig and provides a history of his Studebaker employment. Of course Hardig later went on to employment as chief engineer for The new Avanti under Leo Newman and Nate Altman.

If H.W. Arnold is Harm Arnold then he was the Studebaker executive assigned to work with the Canadian operation in Hamilton in a liaison capacity for design and engineering. Although it's been 50 years since I've seen or talked to Harm, the man you identify as H.W. Arnold in the picture certainly looks familiar to me.

Egbert resigned on Nov. 25, 1963 from what I remember reading.
