Whats your favorite Studebaker custom and one you would own if you could? Here mine one of many and hopefully I can build one before it's to late. Would make a perfect daily driver.

Your idea of custom is different than the one I envisioned when I saw the title. When I think of a custom I think of chopped and smoothed cars with a lot of modification to the factory appearance. Both of the pictures shown are what I would call modified vehicles, although the pickup is a custom treatment. I have seen very few full custom Studebakers that I thought looked better than original.

Isn't that what makes life great?
I have two boxes for cars.Stock or non stock
Others have 3 or 5 or 10 boxes to fit a car in.
          All are ok.

52-fan I think my picture of the 2dr wagon based champ looks by far better than the stock champ pickup with the butt ugly dodge box.

Here's the one I truly love, and find to be the nicest rendition of the C/K I've ever seen.

^^^ Yeah, the grille on that one has an Aston Martin vibe, and that's not a bad way to be! ^^^

I am pretty happy with my 48 Champion, but I think the body changes are fairly subtle - it is mostly an engineering project. The only custom Studebaker I might trade it for is the 54 coupe with the Corvette running gear, a really radical body custom.

I agree, but that is more like an improved version of the original. Improvements are all in the eye of the beholder, but when I saw the word "custom" I was thinking of the vehicles that have been chopped, sectioned, molded, and smoothed until their origin is in doubt.

I believe that this was an experimental car from the Studbaker factory . done to revive the Golden Hawk hardtop in 1961.
Over the years there has been discussions about this car built at Studebaker Engineering and sold to an employee after the plant closed.
The owner offered it for sale to me in the early 70's.
He send me a picture of it.

                              I have owned several.
What I would pick in answer to your question, is the custom 1953 that John Bridges built to be like a car that Robert Bourke designed as a sort of sports car for the time.
