  • Maintenance: Miles or Time Or?

In getting ready to drive from New Jersey to Rhode Island for the National I decided to change the hoses and the oil pressure hose. They are all ten years old, but only have 10,000 miles on them. The car is stored inside all year long. In looking at the hoses they sure look good but I have always changed hoses after ten years. What do you think?

You can never be wrong by changing rubber components on a regular basis regardless of mileage. Believe me, the one time you decide to not replace something is the time you will regret it. Hoses and belts are not expensive and new ones are great insurance. My two cents worth.

I agree with Ed, and that will give you a great chance to flush and put fresh coolant in too.
