Can anyone tell me if this is the correct carb for my 60 Lark with the flathead 6?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120036587130

I asked the seller for better pics, but he said that's the best he could do [}:)]

I'm thinking it may be worth it if it'll fit my car...

Any help is appreciated!

Hey Robert,

It is a correct carb for 59/60 flathead. I think I recall having seen another "AS" type carb on Ebay for a little less money. They're easily cleaned up and kits are readily availible. Even though it's NOS, it may still need a kit/gasket set as they and accel. pump tend to dry and shrink. It is rare to find a new one. Hope this is of some encouragement.

Hmm... I was thinking of it on the basis of cost vs. kit for mine plus time and lack of expertise in this area... where I'm at $$ wise in this car I can afford to trade a little money for a time savings- as a concept I have a little more money than time; but the project can't justify just sendin it to a restorer; plus I do enjoy doing the work myself- when I can... The "AS" carb is a simple one to clean up and install new accel pump and gaskets. I'd suggest buying a kit from Dayton Parts in New Smyrna Beach, Fl. They are Carter experts and have the best quality kits. The kits always come with a schmetic of the carb and all parts, so it's hard to mess up too bad. Take your time, lay all parts on a clean light surface, taking mental pictures of where they come from. When I don't have a can of solvent to soak parts in, I use lot of aresol carb cleaner. Go for it, you can do this.

Thanks for the response, Kim.

Here's a question: I have a "Re-Carb Kit for major overhaul" still sealed; the dealer had written on it, "60 Stude 6 cyl. Carter 2934S 3046S"...PN 1550822...

What do those #s mean? Am I correct in assuming this is the kit I'd need?

Many thanks!
