  • Frankenstude? Body and engine decode, please

This is a Hawk I picked up to part out.
The frame broke in 2 places trying to get it on the trailer. It is NOT worth saving.
Was told it was a 1958 with a 289.I didnt even look at the body tag when picking it up.
Not one wheel turned so it was pure drag it on the trailer time.
Body tag says 61V-C6...shouldn't there be fins?
Engine code is P 7502 with maybe another digit covered up. 289?Click image for larger version

Yes, a '61 would have had fins......but I guess someone decided it would look better without them.

The P prefix on the engine number would indicate a 289.

Hi Bob. you interested in selling that tag? My '61 is missing its tag. My tag is 61V-C6 7000. Am sure l can cut and braze to make up the correct tag! Regards kevin

Bruv, try contacting Stude Dude on this Forum, he has brand new vin tags and can probably organise the stamping of your correct numbers.
Save a lot of messing around brazing tags together.
