  • More decal questions - 1964 Commander 289

I recently bought a few decals from Stude International and wondering where to locate some. I looked through previous posts but would like help on locating the " The Climatizer " and the "Studebaker 289" valve cover decals. Apparently the climatizer decal was on the firewall side but where? Also with the sparkplug harness clips, ridges and lumps stamped into the valve covers where do the 289 Decals belong? Anybody in the club who has installed these? Thanks for any help.

The Climatizer on a 'Lark type' is under the dash on the passenger side, immediately behind the glove compartment, with only the supply & return hoses visible under the hood.

The 259 and 289 Decals for all Post 1957 Studes. are aftermarket, and never were Factory installed.
So you can put them wherever you like. But they do fit at the Right Front end and Left Rear of the covers where there is no Oil Filler pipe & Cap.

Here is the only visible and logical spot, but do not install your Air Cleaner Decal off center like this this one.

The Chrome Dressup Kit was an available Option on Non-Jet Thrust Standard V8's. A VERY Nice one!

The Climatizer Decals were also NOT used on '64 Cars, and most Post 1952 Stude. Cars, except some Pre 1959 Dealer installed Units.
