    Welcome to the Forum!
I owned a '51 Business coupe with the Champion 6 cylinder and thoroughly enjoyed it. From 1951 to the end of production the Studebaker frame, suspension and wheels were interchangable, so that helped when I did a brake upgrade and went looking for wheels.
Best of luck in your hunt and keep us posted on what you find!

Definitely one of the coolest cars on the planet (I am somewhat biased). Gets more looks per mile than most other early 50's cars (especially Big 3). As far as how many are left, that's a tough one because they lend themselves to being hot-rodded. So there aren't very many flathead 6 versions still out there. Even though they make outstanding hotrods, I have kept mine with the original engine, but definitely not an original restoration. As a driver, the 6-cylinder Champion engine with 3-speed OD transmission is very good. I get about 24 mpg in mixed city/highway driving.

I've got one too - although it's sold! There's a few still around - both modified and stock. You're NEVER gonna get an honest total of them left, because alot of them aren't registered or are in junk yards or barns or farm fields. Really attractive lines to them![]

Well worth having. Do not be concerned with how many are left. Tell us of condition and work needed. We will help as much as possible. What are your concerns?

If you take out the recent devaluation of the US Dollar, 13,500 Euros was $13,500 USD just a few years ago. Transport to Belgium might be around $3,000 USD. You would be lucky to find a like new 100% original '51 Business Coupe here in the US for $10,500.

If you send me some pictures I can post them for you.

Anton, do not be concerned with spelling; we understand you perfectly.

Dick, it's only 100 miles from him. Transport will be the cost of fuel!

There are very active Studebaker Clubs in Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Germany. Link to this page for contact information.

Yep, I understand that. I was trying to come up with a comparison in the North American market to the deal he has there.

Can't see the picture, however this model had two different types of trunk hardware depending on trim level (Custom, Deluxe, Regal). See picture-posting instructions on opening page of forum.

'51 business coupes are really striking cars! I was riding through town in the '59 a couple days ago, and rode right past the Court House. I glanced over in the parking lot, and there sat a beautiful, burgundy '51 Champ 3 passenger coupe. I wish I'd have had my camera. I've known about that car for as long as I can remember; the local tag clerk owns it. Her father bought the car new, and her husband restored it for her, years ago. It still looks quite nice, and gets driven a few miles every couple of months or so. Of all the '51 Biz coupes left, not many are still stock with the Champ engine, and even less are owned by the original owner's daughter. [^]

Anton sent me photos and I present them herewith.

The trunk handle is original to the Custom trim model.

That's a very nice looking car. I wouldn't doubt it being worth the asking price.
