  • C cab safety hood latch

Where can I get a safety hood latch for my 1955 C cab? Thanks.

The First thing you will need is the Studebaker Part number.

Your looking at about $95.00 plus shipping/insurance.

Way too expensive. I'll find a substitute in the junk yard. And I won't even need a Studebaker Part Number.

Are you talking about the safety hook that's mounted on the hood, or the latch plate assembly that mounts on the grille?

The safety hook that mounts on the hood. It looks like many cars have such items that may well fit my truck. I just thought if someone had a used one...

Mine all went with hoods I sold, try the "Studebaker Truck Talk Page" certainly some one has one to sell reasonable.

Are you looking for the latch mechanism, or the little hood lock safety hook?

It's a number found in the parts book for your truck.

It helps people know what part you are asking about, and keeps them from having to guess what you may or may not be talking about. For example~~

Wish I had the part number, Dave, but I think you may have missed the word "safety" in my original post.
