Are they a metric item pretending to be a SAE item? I have a suspicion that those oddly threaded 5/16" holes may be really be 8mm.

I scrounged up an m8 bolt and it fits the adjustment eye and the hole in the back for an extra bracket. I'm thinking that the battery terminal is m5 or m6.
