  • Paint: Just purchased a 1957 Golden Hawk

Want to repaint. Title states Yellow. Does that translate to fin is white and the remainder of the car is yellow or is there other white areas.

The 1957 Factory Two Tones were only done on the Fin.

Pay NO attention to what some colorblind Dept. of Motor Vehicles person entered on the Title during an inspection.

Check under the Glove Box for a Factory Paper Label stating the Paint Mfg. and Studebaker Colors.

The best info method to get ALL of the Production info is getting the Production Order from the Studebaker National Museum, from our Main Page here in the "Resources Tab".

Visit the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana, to experience the story of one of the world's foremost automotive makers.

That (only on the fin) applies to the "standard" 1957 Golden Hawks. The 1957 Golden Hawk 400s also had the side grille cavities painted the secondary color.

Most states only allow certain standard names for color. For example, I own a deep cranberry metallic car. The closest state color was red. I finally conviced them to call it dark red. They can add dark or light to the standard color names.
