fuel tank capacity

Before I run out of gas in my 53 commander hardtop, can someone tell me the fuel tank capacity. A skittish gas guage keeps me guessing. I get concerned that I am low and only add about 13 gallons. How close am I to walking?

I may start to stretch my fillups to about 14 or 15 gallons. I am anxious now with a speedo to see what kind of mileage I get
