  • Electrical: Battery Tray

Not finding the battery tray in the 2R parts book. Anyone know what page it's on or the part number?

On some Studebakers the battery tray was integral with the inner fender.
For the"C" cab truck you had to oder the inner fender with battery tray.
I believe that later trucks had a removable battery tray.

It's definitely part of my '52 2R17 fender.

It's not pictured, but the part number is listed in section 0610 of the parts book. It's more like a cradle, and bolts to the frame. For a 6-cylinder truck with the standard Group 1 six-volt battery, it's part number 675729. Vern on Stude Truck Talk probably has a good used one for sale.

Found it. Thanks skip. Do you know if cradle/tray includes hold down rods and top strap?

It has a box bottom and front and rear ends, no sides. It has built-in threaded rods welded to the ends. The top rim (battery hold down to us Stude freaks -- thanks BP) is #285758, which is a common item.
