  • Mile-O-Meter in Our '53 Commander

It was installed where the clock usually is. One source says it is a '53 Packard accessory as I cannot find it listed as a Studebaker accessory. Does anyone know?

I am pretty sure it's just one of those Vacuum Gauges with markings for Poor Economy, Fair, Good and Excellent instead of, or in combination with the Inches of Vacuum.

They were mostly Aftermarket but probably were sold by Studebaker and Packard.

Thanks, but credit goes to my wife's father and uncle who did the custom work in 1954-5, several years before she was born. Restored in 2009-11 here in Yuma.

Ours was made by Gale Hall Engineering in North Hampton, NH as advertised in April, 1953, issue of Popular Science magazine. Cost was $14.75.
