  • '55 sedan window regulators

Been awhile since disassembly and cannot seem to find answer in the manual or parts books but each window regulator has one pointed end bolt that goes through a hole and is held in place with a clip rather than a nut. Hard to describe w/o a photo, but maybe someone has worked with these recently. The window regulator itself is attached via four set screws but this much larger coarse thread bolt is low down and I'm wondering if it is just a "stop" since there appears to be nothing physical the bolt can bolt to. The metal square clip the bolt attaches to is moveable horizontally maybe 2-3" when not tightened down, this alowing the bolt to move back and forth.
