  • Village Creek cookout.

Last Saturday, the Studebakers of Arkansas and West Tennessee chapters meet for the 4th annual cookout at Village Creek State Park near Wynne, Arkansas. It was a chilly day and the attendance was light, but a few hardy folks showed up for hamburgers and hot dogs. I took lots of pictures, but somehow failed to get shots of most of the people. I really wish I had a picture of John Wade walking around wrapped in an old blanket. I thought I would share a few pictures including some I took on the way there and back.

A few more that I took on the way home. The fields were changing colors and I thought the prairie made a good background. Some of the background is soy beans and some is rice. Although Village Creek is on a ridge that reminds you of the wooded mountains, most of eastern Arkansas is what was called the Grand Prairie and was a vast grassland when the settlers came.

I believe he said those were from a Mercury and a machinist made the plain center caps.
