Does anyone know where there is a good place to get wide whitewall radial tires for my 55 Commander? Hopefully on the Canadian side of the border since every dollar spent on the American side these days costs $1.35 CDN. That really hurts! THANKS.....BUD

Got mine from a dealer in Port Carling Ontario and his as is in Old Autos. They looked sharp on my '61 Flamingo Hawk. If you don't get Old Autos, contact me through www.thehamiltonchaptersdc.ca under executive contacts. Roly

Like Matthew, I buy Diamond Back. Fresh new name brand radials with your choice of sidewall.

THANKS guys i was wondering what prices would be on both sides of the border? Would probably need 205 75 15 although 195 would work too. THANKS.....BUD

Bud, While it's easy for me to spend your money IMHO you will happier with the appearance and fit of the 205x75x15s.

For what it's worth, the tires on the Speedster are 215/75/R15. I found a few more pics.

Good to deal with and good price is Collectors Auto Supply in B.C. 1-800-414-4462. Ad in "Old Autos" newspaper. Tires shipped cheaply by bus!! Dealt with then twice, as has a good Stude friend. No problems.

The tires that Matthew posted pictures of look nice, but the whitewall looks like a later (narrower) width than what would be correct on a 1955 Speedster.

I just checked price of the Diamond Backs here in Canada and in the US. It is almost the same buying them here in Canada. I will be ordering them from the Canadian dealer in Bracebridge On. Roly Lusted, president Hamilton SDC

There is also Coker Tire, but I checked their prices once......... Then later I got back into my chair.......and decided I wasn't going that route......
