  • 50 Starlight trunk hinge needed

Anyone know of a source for one of the above? How some one broke the original is beyond me. Left ( drivers) side.
    Thanks
    George

I have the ones off my 48 conv if they will work. They are a little stiff from non use. I got a better set for mine. If you can use them, I can bring them to the Fla. State meet.

Sorry! I got confused.(nothing new) I thought it was 5'6 from Kissimmie that needed it. But still if you are going to Fla....

Do some parts book research. I think they're different.

We did some actual parts book research on this about a year ago.

The 47-51 hinges are the same across these years, BUT
                -different from left to right
-different from coupes to other body styles

In other words, 47-51 three and five passenger coupes are one style. 47-51 sedans and convertibles are another style. The trunk lids themselves differ from coupes to other body styles.

So, the OP needs one from a 47-51 five passenger coupe or a three passenger coupe. A sedan or convertible hinge will not fit.

For some reason the parts books say that 52 hinges are different part numbers.

                      Ok,
On comparing both hinges together the only difference is that the coupe has a slightly more pronounced crank on its lower mounting.

Sorry about the quality but lighting is bad under the starlight Click image for larger version

Fivefsix, Yours will not work. You only use hinges from a starlight or bus. Coupe.

georgeE, if you can provide the specific part numbers you are looking for, I'll check to see if I have any NOS ones. Got a number of trunk hinges.
