  • A Studebaker item I'll bet you've never seen before.

This hat (beret) and ribbon given out to dealers in the Chicago region who attended the Drive-away in the fall of 1964. Modeled by my girlfriend Mona. This gift recently received from Darlene Dittmer whose husband Jack ran Dittmer Motors in Elkader, Iowa.

Yep, never heard a single word of complaint in all the years we have been together.

And I bet she hasn't aged a bit.

That looks like an old girlfriend who left me for a "hot English teacher". She was kind of cold and ignored me there at the last. Say, my girl got an SDC tattoo on one of her cheeks right before she left me. Now I'm tired of looking for her. Would you kind of inspect Mona, just in case.

              Offered without comment.

There is a huge market for the 'works of art' that the company says you can 'customise' so you get exactly the girl you want
I'd rather be driving my Studebaker!

Mr. Quinn, you should buy that girl some clothes, and some arms would be a nice touch.

Prefer my models w/o clothes, to each his own. As for arms the Venus de Milo has gotten along fine for a few thousand years without them.

No, I've never seen one before. Were they just blue or did they come in different colors?

Really no way to know since it is the only one I have ever seen and it is doubtful that any others have survived.

Mona apparently wanted that beret so much that she gave an arm and a leg for it....twice!

                            Mr. Quinn,

Do you have a bow tie (sort of ) that all the Studebaker people were wearing at Notre Dame when the 1964 line up was introduced? I remember a photo of a smiling Sherwood Egbert wearing that tie and others were wearing them as well

I do have photos showing several people wearing the bow ties (including Egbert) but do not have one.
