  • Oil Pan End Opening Size for a 1952 Champion?

I looked at an oil pan today that the seller says is early 50's. The sump is in the rear, and the rear opening is 4 1/2" from edge to edge. The front opening is 6 3/4" to the edges. Does anyone know for sure if this is the correct pan for a 1952 Champion? Thanks, Tom

Pictures or part number would help; depth and length of sump? All others are speculation.

Tom, I have a n.o.s. oil pan that's for 1955 - 1964 Champion six. and I don't know what would be different on pre 55 on up ? or if any actual variance, is it nothing to worry about.

Sedan or C/K would be different. '51-'52 Champion part number 529264. '53-'54 Champion part number 531917. '51-'52 Commander part number 527145. '53-'54 will depend on body model.
        Just saying...!

Brad, I wondered also "but" 55 - 64 takes in Larks/Lark types and I'll have to get out in the garage and check the # could it start with 15 ?

In 1955 the 6 cyl. main bearings were increased in size, making the main caps larger also. So the half-round end openings are bigger. If I was home I'd compare some measurements for you.

That's why I tried to address only the "early 50's", knowing that the "seller" might not actually remember the application.
