  • A"signed" seating

I pulled the seats out of my 1963 Avanti to install new carpets and found that the seats were signed underneath. The driver's seat was signed: "Gene 3190 #1" and the passenger seat was signed: "Smitty 3190 #2" in blue crayon.

There is a very good chance that if you check your Production Order you will see that 3190 is the "Line Number" of your Car.

On some years and some models these can be found on the Firewall to I.D. the Body, the Final line usually used Line Numbers to match all the proper Parts up to the right Car.

One clue is, if it was an employee number they would not be the same.

The line number on the build sheet is 2998, and I'm not sure the numbers on the seats are the same. They both start with 3, but after that Smitty's number is hard to read.
