  • A new (to me) Studebaker feature

This morning, with our 1947 Champion sedan, I joined other members of the Southeast Region, N.B. Antique Auto Club, in attending Sunday service at the non-denominational Irving Memorial Chapel in Bouctouche, New Brunswick. This is an annual event, followed by brunch at Le Pays de la Sagouine amusement park.

Rev. Dr. Winston Parks, the minister conducting the service, welcomed the antique auto club members in his opening remarks, then said, "It is nice to see my Grandfather's 1946 (sic) Studebaker out there, just a different colour. If I may tell a story, one time when we were in the car with Grandfather, someone asked him why both ends of the car looked so similar. Grandfather replied that when you want to reverse direction, you just press a button on the dashboard and the whole interior turns around inside the car."
