  • Lark with a continental kit on back! Never saw that before

Boy, I'll bet that is quite the "Performer" with all that Lead in back, A/C, Automatic and Six tiny Cylinders!

Yes there have been a handful or Two of these Continental Kit Equipped Studebakers done with the aftermarket Kits readily available in the '60's, IF you have the taste for one.

Can you imagine trying to load fairly heavy items into that trunk?

Nice car but I bet it's like a vega I had with AC. At 65 you flip on the Ac and it would drop to about 50.

About like a Chevette that I had with AT and A/C. You could really feel it when the compressor kicked in. As soon as the state got a title to me, I sold the car.

Last Friday at the regional meet in Annandale we took a tour of French Lake Auto Parts and I saw a few cars in the yard still sporting their continental kits.
It's not my cup of tea and sure looks out of place on this Lark.

I much prefer the spare tire bump of the late 50's Imperials.

I'd rather be driving my Studebaker!

You can (or could) buy one of those for a Studebaker as an Accessory in 1958, the same as the Packard Hawk had, no need to try to find a Imperial one.

They seem to look good on the 55 to 57 Tbirds and the big 56 Victoria's but I have yet to see any Studebaker look good with a continental kit on it!! Love the colors of this car though ..
                  Love my Lark

There's an Amphicar painted the same colors in my area, so that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this Lark.

Just need to remove the continental kit and install two propellers.

Actually, the Optional deck lid overlay for Studebakers, was very different from the Packard Hawk ones.
