  • Wow: Cross-Country in a 1912 EMF

    'Bully for these folks:

Joe and Betty Swann drove their EMF, one of the first vehicles of the Brass Era, on a 40-day, 4,200-mile cross-country odyssey.

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

It would be interesting to know what the route that was taken, and time of year. I could not see going across the Arizona Desert in July!

I would like to do that once my car is put back together.

I rode in a restored EMF in Minnesota very much like that one. It felt like being on a tractor, but I loved every minute. Taking one across country is definitely a feat, but I think these cars were often tougher than we give them credit for. They had to be!
