  • The 64 after a day with the buffer

I spent the day with the 64 and a buffer. This is original paint. It was super dull and I actually am shocked it turned out so well. The pictures are somewhat flattering as there are blemishes of course if you look up close but it isn't bad for 51 year old paint!!! I'm not bragging, just sharing my excitement Now all I want is for one person to tell me it looks great and I'll be happy! I also put an electronic fuel pump on today, and the vapor lock issue is SOLVED!!!! Maybe now I can drive it without worries for a while.

So are you going to tell us the secret "Potion" you used on it? Meguiar's, Mother's, what?

A '64 in black is a special kind of car! I think we would all like to see more photos!

Do tell us what you used. I have a 64 wagon waiting for the same treatment!

Fantastic! Hard to believe that's still the original paint.

The second Studebaker I bought was my 1950 Commander in El Paso in 1969. The car looked silver until I hand polished it with rubbing compound, and it turned to blue.

Nice work, no doubt shiny enough to reflect your huge grin. :-)

That is a very good-looking car. Your efforts were not in vain.

I agree, it looks great. I had a black '64 Daytona hardtop back in the mid 1970s (which many years later ended up being the Keystone Region raffle car), so I am partial to black '64s.
