  • Used parts search..

Does anyone maintain a "clearinghouse" for used parts? An email list of known sources, to send a message to that would get to all the players?
It would certainly be a good means to quickly chase down needed items..

That might be handy for buyers, but would it not just create a Price War among Sellers?

First step is always to put out a WTB here. The usual suspects will quickly reply.

Some of us have a couple dozen used parts; some have tens of thousands. To get all the used parts in to a database would be an undertaking we could expect from Bob Johnstone, not from mere mortals. If all that's needed is an email list of folks who have "some stuff", you're down to only a few thousand people. I know Al Hall is still trying to sell his forty year accumulation of used parts. Transport would probably cost more than price.

In the mean time, try the Studebaker vendors page maintained by Frank Ambrosio. There are quite a few of us parts vendors left who can supply the parts you need.

A modern day version of Dick Datson's idea. He was ahead of his time, maybe ?
