  • Need Good Color Underhood Pictures for 1950 Champion

Did the factory ever publish any good color pictures of the 1950 Champion engine. The only ones I've seen so far have been advertising pictures, which were colorful, but not correct colors. Thanks for any pictures you can post, either of original unrestored engines or correctly painted ones.

I'd like to see the correct shade of green for the engine, and the amount of gloss for any black parts. Also, I am wondering if the oil fill cap should be engine green, gloss black, or semi gloss black? Thanks, Tom

The correct engine green is the old Bell Telephone Co. olive drab. Last time I asked, the local DuPont shop still knew the recipe.
Note that you'll see some engines that are just "too" green.
The black should not be gloss; I don't think anyone would criticize plain old rattle can semi gloss black.
    Only my opinion, of course.
