  • Studebaker (late 20's early 30's) split rim locks

I am a member of the Pierce-Arrow society. One of my friends have a 1931 Pierce model 43 sedan, and he is missing the split rim locks. Someone told me that someone in the SDC is making these locks. These Studebaker locks supposedly are the same as the same era Pierces. Can someone advise me on this matter? Thank you, Tony

    Tony,

You might contact Al or Paul Murray at "Murray Motor Car" in Monroe Wa. (425) 487 1902. You may know Paul as a member of the PA Society. When we were preparing my 1931 President 80R we made some. Although it was twenty five years ago, I'm sure that they can help.-Bill

      Tony,

Began to wonder if you were talking about a real split rim, or the lock that holds the chrome tire ring in place on the one piece wire wheels of the early thirties?

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. Is that not a split rim?

I know Dave Murray well. He is not making them.

Wrong Murray, that's Paul and Al Murray, they have a successful restoration business about 75 miles north of where Dave lives.
