    Hi,

    I have a Studebaker V8 i'm trying to identify the engine, the numbers stamped on the engine are: V307I45
    I don't see this number in the chart any help is much appreciated!

    1954 Commander started at V282501 and 1955 Commander started at V312701. Yours falls between these numbers

        What Doug said, a 1954 Commander or Land Cruiser 232 C.I.D. 120 H.P. V8.

        These 232's have the smaller Exhaust Port, and Valve Size HEADS than the later 259/289 '55 to '64 Engines, but are a very smooth running Engine and have a fair amount of torque for their size.

        Won their Class in the Mobilgas Economy Run every year!

        They can be "warmed up" with a '55-'62 4 Barrel Intake Manifold and small 4 Brl. Carb.

          Thanks for the info. I picked up a 52 3/4 ton flatbed Studebaker with this engine. It runs sweet.
