I'm in need for a radiator shop in northern Illinois as I'm changing engines and need the upper neck replaced as well as a recoring. Any suggestions ?

Mr. Radiator, located on 191st ST in Mokena IL is an old style radiator shop that also does AC repair. Three years ago he repaired my radiator, replaced an ac condenser, cleaned, sealed and soldered the gas tank on my 76 Avanti II.

When you get a quote on re-coring your radiator post the price. I'd be interested to know the bottom line.

Thanks for telling me about Mr Radiator. As far as recoring I'd bet it will run me $350-$400. I might be better just getting a new aluminum one but thats in the $550-$600 neighborhood. Trying to save every hundred dollar bill I can.

You must have gone to a Non-Crook! Most are pushing $500.00 in most parts of the Country. Hmm... New Jersey, aren't things usually very High priced there?

Perhaps a trip or ship to New Jersey would be in order as you'll see in comment #5 for a decent place to go with your part.

Gee! I thought $389.00 plus NJ sales tax was high?
The place is a mom & pop kinda shop where I got it done.
Been using them for years, last re-core I got done was on a 1941 Buick.
That cost was $60.00 but that was also about 1990!
Wow! Have things gotten expensive! I guess pop liked me or the fact the his face lit up when I mentioned Packard? But he didn't start rubbing his hands together and get dollar ($) ($) in his eyes!

I recently bought an aluminum radiator for my T Cab for $153.00 delivered. Came with cap, hose connections in right place. All I had to do drill 4 mounting holes for the core support. If interested I can send the Ebay listing.

I think I paid the same price, including free shipping, from an eBay vendor. Probably the same source. It was mentioned in a post here not long ago. Very happy with mine in my 62 Lark.
