Are you sure that M series HAD a Clock option? I know that from 1949 on the "C" Cab Trucks did not, no provision for it in the dash.StudeRich

I don't believe that the clock was an option on the M but they did use the dash from the Champion car, not sure what years. The radio was an option, have plenty of them...1948 M15A-20 Flatbed Truck Rescue

M truck clocks
Yes, a clock was an option on M trucks, but few farmers bought them. On the pre-war trucks, the 1941 car clock with gold markings on cream background was used. After the war, the clock was like the 1946 Champs: white markings on black background. Recent prices have been in the $300-400 range for a decent, complete clock.

Very nice looking units!
Studebaker home run with their pickup trucks!
Only owned one, a 1957 E5 Transtar, drove the wheels off her!
Great little pickup, we did a lot of work together.sigpic1957 Packard Clipper Country Sedan

Gary, I assumed that the clock was nopt an option because the parts manual only lists the delete plate and not the clock...
The last clock I saw was on ebay a year ago and it went for $700+.1948 M15A-20 Flatbed Truck Rescue

John: The black-face clock is listed in the post-war accessories manual. Richard Quinn has reproduction copies of it. The M truck monograph published by the Studebaker National Museum has a 1940 photo showing an M5 dash with all the accessories, including the $10.50 clock with cream face. You should have bought a clock way back then, except that neither of us were around then. By 1947, the price had gone all the way up to $11.00. Be sure to order the monograph from the Museum on-line store if you don't have one - lots of useful M truck info and excellent photos.Gary Ash
