For those interested, I've had mine a week now. Blows away any phone or PDA ever made.

The hype was accurate- these will forever revolutionize the entire concept!

Still working on learning a couple things, but not the phone's fault- it's operator ignorance.[:I]

Impressive enough that I'm actually considering trying a Mac for my next computer![:0]

I'm not very tech-savvy; so every time I get a new gadget, there's a semi-painful learning curve of varying degrees.

But every time I've made the effort to accept, buy, and learn a new thing, it's always proven to be a big life-improver! Microwave, Fax, GPS, and lots more... The cell phone is literally the key to the success of my business; and best of all, the computer! All these things have proven to be great purchases, and with each I was glad I forced myself to learn something new... heck, without my computer I would never have found this site and club, or met all of you![^]

I feel bad for those who refuse to take advantage of this stuff, or tell themselves "Oh, I'll never be able to learn how to use that thing!"

Sharks have to keep constantly moving or they'll die; I feel like I have to stay willing to learn or I'LL die!!:D

You're right on the target Bob, cell phones, computers, i-pods, and the other high-tech gadgets are just tools. If you learn how to use 'em it can make things easier.

(*RSC)
I think that quite a few Studebaker connoisseurs get a kick out of the contrast between the high tech stuff available today and the (normally) well-engineered simplicity of our Studies.

Huh? He must have been afraid you would know how to push the right buttons to display his porno pics! :D:D

Seriously though, I gather from TV commercials that an iphone is some kind of thing mostly to play music, but has a cell phone, camera, and some kind of remote micro-mini laptop computer to do email or something. [:0]
The monthly fees from some IP, have gotta be outrageous!

Only thing is, my finger tips are NOT the size of pinheads, and my eyes are not 20/20 + microscope zoom! :(

In the next 60 days the I-phone will be G3. We were at the AT&T store yesterday and I was going to get one as my contract was up. I was told to wait. G3 will make intenet browsing as fast as your broadband.

I have a G3 card in my laptop. Almost as fast as CableVision. See if you can return yours or ask them if there will be a G3 upgrade to your software.

Bill-

AT&T is going 3G in our area by end of Nov. (projected). Salesman said this phone can be updated online to be 3G capable, but have heard otherwise. Will be over there tomorrow to verify.

I bought an air card this Spring for my laptop... worked fine, except wasn't any faster than my dial-up[}:)] So we shut it off, and will go back on-line with it when 3G is online.

Still is ridiculous that my house is now almost 3 years old and still can't get broadband- cable OR DSL:(:(

Interesting note: I was toying around with the idea of getting one, but had just bought a PDA 9 months ago. What sold me was, they wouldn't penalize me for not waiting the 15 months left in my contract; and with the business account I have, it would lower my bill $20 per month!!

That's a BIG benefit of being loyal to the same cell company for 14 years;)

Iphones operate on their "Edge" network. Their browser is called Safari. It is amazing! Brings up web pages as easily and accurately as a PC; looks just the same, only smaller. You can expand the writing/pics by simply putting a thumb and forefinger on the screen and spreading them apart... truly amazing![8D] I look in on the Forums any time I stop moving for 2 minutes... (not that often!):D

Makes me excited to think what future versons are going to be like![:0]

I have the AT&T (ex Cingular ex Verizon ex MCI ex AT&T) 3G Card in my Acer notebook laptop with missing keys that the dog attacked. That card is very fast as long as you are in a "3G city".

Worse yet is traveling overseas, AT&T's phones (most) will not work in Korea or Japan, other phones will. plus you have to have a software upgrade done via the provider to get service. London is not 3G, Air Card and Treo were useless for web use. They charged us $16 an hour for internet service.

When we got home a few weeks later we got a letter from the hotel we stayed at asking us to rate the hotel. I let them have it about the 8 pounds per hour for internet service. I said even at a Benny's Buck A Night Motel in the States we get free internet. Two weeks later I got a personal letter from the VP of the hotel apologizing. He said that all the hotels charge for service and his hotel was one the hotels that cherged the least in London, but said that when we return it should be free.

So when we go back next year I am holding him to his word. It should be free considering the value of our dollar.

Well, since this seems to be a Techno thread w/o much Stude content...:D I was reading a magazine on an airplane today as I travelled to northern BC that showed a new faucet where you can tell the temperature of the water coming out of it by the colour of the water as it exits the faucet - blue = cold and red = hot.[:0]

Can't keep up with all the changes![xx(]
