Last fall the A/C stopped working. Anyone had any experience with local type A/C repair facilities? Are they able to obtain/make hoses, fittings, etc.? Know of a good source for parts?

If they specialize in A/C and radiator service they should be able to obtain or make anything you need. This is generally not the case with shops that simply evacuate and recharge A/C systems in the course of other repairs.Brad Johnson,

Not an expert on 79s, but I assume many of the important parts (eg, compressor, fittings) will be standard GM items. The hoses can be made up by a competent a/c shop, as noted by rockne10 above.Skip LackieComment
