Every year about this time, the fights break out.

It's too cold and dark in much of the country to work on Studes, mow the lawn, whatever keeps us busy during the better weather.

So, we spend more time on the computer/internet. We look an ponder on threads we'd never see or think about during the good weather.

Got nothing better to do, so we throw out ideas and comments without considering the internet does not deal with nuance or discern intent.

Then, we see one from that CASO SOB who contradicted us six months ago and it hits the fan.

Knowing wars have no winners has never stopped one from beginning.

Congrats, bezhawk, you've been the catalyst for me to postulate a new acronym - CASSOB.

while y'all are fussin', i'm doing a clay bar & wax on the 51 and enjoyed a mid 60s day with the 'cave door open. still 60 now in the evening. on colder days i gotta find something to do inside with small projects.

i've found that sometimes it's best to write your post - to get your "ya-ya's" out - read, then delete!

I would put a CASOSOB patch on my jacket. Where do I get one?

To keep it Studebaker, neither do strikes.

I get the irony that you feel internet fights are Studebaker-specific

I was looking around on here for someone to fight with but they all appear to be bigger, smarter, stronger and younger than me so I decided to just sit on the sidelines and root for the winner.

When I was a teenager - and always the runt in any group - I learned that I had only one chance in a fight: immediately punch the other guy in the nose and then run as fast as I could. On the Internet, it's kind of hard to punch and run, and I think (hope) I'm a better lover than I am a fighter. Having spent a bunch of years in sales and marketing, I developed a thicker skin and try not to let the jibes get to me. So, here's to tolerance and fellowship!

I agree, it is a component of cabin fever. I like the idea of writing the post, waiting a little while, reading it then deleting it. Posts to forums on the Internet are like emails, once you hit send you lose all control of them, things said cannot be unsaid (you can't un-ring a bell right?), apologies take a while to sink in and reputations can take forever to rebuild. I am not a big advocate of political correctness, but I do believe in the golden rule.

Seems early for cabin fever, haha. Mid February more like it. Maybe the bills from the holidays just past showed up!? That could make anybody grumpy.

Winter only a bit over 1/3 through here, got abt 3mo to go. Started a bit early this year tho one can hope it ends early too!

My dad used to say "don't go looking for a fight and you will be surprised how seldom one will find you". Aren't dads great!
