R2 Idle Speed

At what RPM should my R2 be idling?

I'd say between six to eight hundred RPM....My car gets 'cranky' below those idle speeds.

Per the factory manual 650 RPM auto or stick on an Avanti, assume same for all other R2s. Good luck with that on a Carter AFB with over 100,000 miles and some shaft wear. If it's an A/T car get as low as possible to keep the engagement into D as soft as possible. If it's a stick I'd set at 800 as a good number.
