  • Anyone have a spare 1958 Shop Manual?

As you all know I just picked up my '58. I am in need of a '58 Shop Manual that covers my Commander coupe. I spotted a mint condition manual on eBay but it was for a '56. At 25 bucks I considered it a good buy though!

Does anyone have a spare in good condition? Heck even if it's not in good condition, as long as it's legible I don't really care. I can try to find a perfect manual later on down the road...

For now I just need something with all the specs to make this car run. [^]

    Thanks!

    Chris

EDIT: I'm looking to purchase one, not a handout lol... I just re-read my post and that's kinda what it looked like I was getting at.

Well, you know, you need the '56 manual too because the '58 book is only a 114 page supplement. Meaning it only contains information new to the '58 models. Unit repair or major overhaul information is in the larger book.

Since you can buy the manual new for $40 and the suplement for $15 or $18, be careful what you bid.

                    Chris,

Just a note, your car is not a coupe.

lol... yeah i've been meaning to fix that. I like getting old timers wound up by calling convertibles, roadsters and vise versa, and hard tops, coupes vise versa. I'll admit i've been known to do it on purpose.

When I tell my friends about the car they think i've come down with a case of turrets. Is there anyway I can shorten what I call this thing? I've been calling it a 1958 Studebaker Commander Starlight hardtop. Were all Starlights hardtops, so I can lose the "hardtop" part?

On the flip side, none of my car buddies will know what the heck a Commander Starlight is and i'll probably have to tell them it's a hardtop 2 door anyway lol....

It gets more confusing, hardtops were call Starliners in 52-55, and Starlights WERE coupes. In 58, Ford had the rights to the Startliner name, thus the hardtop became a Starlight. Got that ?
