My '63 Daytona Hardtop was restored to be driven some 12-13 years ago.
I am happy with the job given my $$ criteria at the time, but not terribly long ago I noticed that in the back seat floor area were two perfectly-round holes (each, maybe not quite one-inch in diameter) that were directly above the front of the rear-spring mountings (shackles?). It doesn't appear that any body-to-frame mounting bolts ever went there, as again, they are directly above the front of the rear spring mounting. The body shop put heavy-duty tape over these holes. What are these holes for, and should there be plugs for them? The Body Manual and the Chassis Parts Catalog don't show them.
Thanks,
Bill Pressler
