  • Ocean Bay Chapter 'OCTOBERFEST' 2014!

The Ocean Bay Chapter, SDC, held its annual 'OCTOBERFEST' this past Sunday at the Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, Massachusetts. Very scenic location! I'll be posting photos of some of the thirty seven Studebakers and Packards which attended this event. I'll start with this incredible 'survivor' 1935 Commander Eight Coupe which was driven down from New Hampshire.....Enjoy!

Here are some more photos of the Octoberfest meet. There were 11 Avantis there and 4 or 5 modified cars/trucks. I particularly liked the 2R5 truck with the 225 cubic inch Dodge slant 6 with fuel injection and a turbocharger - very unusual! The bodywork on the truck was excellent, too, with nice "frenched" headlight.

Thanks for the posts. There's just something about the style of the 30's era Studes that I love, even the four doors.

        Studebaker just got them right.

That Chrysler 'slant six' powered 2R is a beauty! The owner owns a metal fabrication/welding shop, and this Stude truck is his parts runner. (for about ten years now!) He crafted the engines intake manifold himself.

And how about this beautiful 1957 Silver Hawk custom?...The unique streamer attached to the cowl tag indicates this Hawk was built for Studebaker employee 'Smith'!

a lot of attention to detail on that truck...quite the calling card for his abilities. love the contoured front bumper... thanks for posting more photos. junior

This '63 Avanti was purchased only six weeks ago by its Rhode Island owner. It came from Pennsylvania. Some Avantis are just plain 'RIGHT'.......This is one of them!

This dandy 1956 Packard Caribbean Hardtop was driven down from Maine again this year. This car had a crowd around it at all times. Probably one of the finest examples of this model in the country! (Front view of this Caribbean taken at last year's 'Octoberfest')

Here's a real nice 1980 Avanti ll which was purchased by a friend of mine only last month from a gent in Wisconsin. This Avanti has a lot of 'eye-appeal', with its factory 'Colonial Yellow' paint, and flawless burgandy red leather interior with matching red carpet. Equipped with just about every option offered by Avanti Motors in 1980, this baby only has 43K on its odometer!
