All these many years, I have dreamed of owning a Lark II. You know, the ones N&A got the body dies for and produced after Studebaker moved to Vancouver, or somewhere up north. They're still making them up there, you know...



Found on eBay. I just had to laugh!

Thru the years, I've met folks while out driving our Lark (a Jonquil Yellow one at that) and they'll cock their head a bit, squint their eyes and try to visualize their dad's or their anut's old Studebaker.
"Yessir - aunt Fran had one JUS' like this. Only, if I remember right, it was a Lark Mark Six - not a Mark Eight, like yours.

Them Mark 8s had Ford engines in them, made in Canada but they had to discontinue the Studebaker because Ford needed all the engines it could get for the new Mustang. Yep I remember that well.

Oh you know the Lark II's?? They were made in 65-66 in the Hamilton plant with them GM engines in 'em right next to the Avanti II's (makes the Johnny Carson motion of the golf swing while drumroll occurs)

Maybe they were getting a good deal on the GM diesels when they began installing them in trucks. Three 2-71's will equal a Lark VI (as well as broken eardrums).
