I had a shop take out the seat bottoms , years ago , and I haven't look recently , but it seems when I get around to it , the seat bottoms , I guess have a clip in the floor , they look squished, can I use something from the hardware store to attach them to the floor? Any help is really appreciated! Want to get this done by august sometime. Thanks Mike

They need to be "kicked", pounded or whatever to the rear at the bottom, front, near the clips in the floor. If your fist or foot won't do it, use a 2X4 and a hammer.StudeRich

As Rich said. They are essentially "hooked" in place at the bottom/front of the rear seat. With one hand, push at the bottom of the seat, (near the floor), rearward, toward the trunk. At the same time, with the other hand push the seat upward.
Do this on both sides of the seat, as there is a hook on the driver side and another on the passenger side. They can be a bit stiff after all these years, but there is no other easy way to do it without resorting to violence. Be sure to count the change you find under there with caution. You never know if there might be a valuable coin hiding under that back seat.
I once bought a car for $60. Found $1.50 under the back seat and another $3 in the ash tray. That turned into a real bargain.sals54

Are You saying the clips need to be re-attached to the floor ? they were originally spot welded in place, was floor work done ? if so You'll have to determine exactly where the clips need to be re located for a good fit to the seat bottom.and I do think they have kind of a squished look to them,so they're not damaged.Joseph R.
