  • What trucks or other vehicles are compatible with a 1947 m5 series?

Hi, in attempt to do a restoration of a 1947 studebaker m5 pickup what other vehicles have compatible parts?

Most all mechanical parts are interchangeable with the early Champions. Body parts will not interchange with anything else. The instrument panel and gauges will interchange with the early Champions.

If you are looking for "Other Make" Parts, those would be quite limited to Differential, Transmission, Starter, Generator internal parts for the most part.

The problem with that method is that Studebaker Parts are MUCH easier to find than the Chrysler Products and Ford Parts that are similar but sometimes not exact fits.

In the Home of Studebaker, South Bend Indiana, there are still thousands of NOS Parts available because very few Post War Parts were ever salvaged.

Any M-series '41-'48. Some dash parts even interchange with similar vintage Presidents, though the part numbers may differ.
It would behoove you to obtain your original factory body and chassis catalogs.

If your are trying to go modern for daily driving reasons, or for custom, I heard that late 80's??? Ford ranger chassis could be adapted to the M-5 bodies.
