Senior moment of the century

Just got back all my plating from Graves for the 63 R2 GT and it's simply unbelievable, almost too nice to put on the car, and way nicer then Studebaker ever did. That's the good news, the bad news is a pulled a nice set of 61 covers off the shelf and had them plated.! Gez, what a bone headed move. Well, at least I can put the shinny bits on while I get the right ones redone.

The grill shell had some some waves and distortions when it was new, but none after they got done with it.

Shell does look very nice, John, especially the crisp squareness of the raised area around the insert, not all rounded and ground off as you'd expect.

I know you had a pile of things done at once, but approximately what do you think they grill shell would have been ($$$) had it been plated alone? BP

Well, we can get close. The total was $1550, the horn ring was $250, valve covers $400, that leaves $900 for the air cleaner and cover and grill shell. I'm guessing the air cleaner and cover was in the $300-$400 range, so $500-$600 ?

Well, we can get close. The total was $1550, the horn ring was $250, valve covers $400, that leaves $900 for the air cleaner and cover and grill shell. I'm guessing the air cleaner and cover was in the $300-$400 range, so $500-$600 ?

That means that you have a spare set of rocker arm covers that you have more than $400 in <g>. Good luck on eBay.
