  • 70th Annual John M Studebaker Wheelbarrow Races

In honor of one of the Studebaker Corporation founders this event will be held at the El Dorado County fair in Placerville, CA (Old Hangtown) this coming June 14th. The local Kiwanis club has contacted our chapter with an invitation to display our Studebakers at the fair to help celebrate the Gold Rush heritage that John M Studebaker played a role in. There will be a Peoples Choice award with the winner receiving one of the Golden Johnny Trophies. I will be promoting this at the Pacific Southwest Zone Meet, but wanted to share it here too. They have space for about 15 cars in the display area. Contact me if you would like to participate: p.dilling at outlook.com or with a private message.

These races are not for the faint of heart or stamina! You don't have to race to show your car (Whew!)

Will Cory find victory in the the El Dorado County Fair's annual Championship Wheelbarrow Race? Find out Sunday September 6th in Episode 3 of Experience El D...

Glad the Studebaker legacy is remembered in this way!
Have fun at the show, Pat.

Hopefully we will get some good pictures and be able to write an article for Turning Wheels.
