I would like to detail the chassis of my R2 Hawk as a winter project but I don't know what to paint and what colors to use. My brother has a Boss 302 that has multi-colored stripes, x's, and OK's on various parts and my Hawk is black undercoat on the underside of the body and satin black paint on the frame, brake and fuel lines, control arms and most everything else. Any information on what to paint and what colors to use would be greatly appreciated.

Eastwood tools Chassis black is a good choice and a yellow stripe down the side of the coil springs should do it.

I thought the yellow stripe was only the HD springs?
DAMMIT, now you reminded me of something my car should have and doesn't.

You should use the HD springs on a R2, lots of extra weight on the nose.

I have the HD springs, I just didn't have any yellow paint when I did the front end. so now that I've been reminded of it, I will feel obligated to crawl under there.
so now that someone has started this... should it be a hand painted line, or a line of spray paint?

If you really want your Hawk to stand out the undercarriage should be
spotless with out undercoating. Sure the factory did the slop on undercoating but they were trying to prevent rust. If that is what you are trying to do, leave the undercoating, but if you are intent on having really stand out and "above the rest" kind of Hawk (and you must if you really have and R2) go the extra distance. A smooth semi-gloss black looks great is easy to take care of. Detailing the undercarrige is the way to go.
Good luck which ever you decide!!
